Office & Commercial Movers
A business move is judged by one thing: whether the team can work on Monday. That means the plan has to account for the building's dock and elevator rules, the landlord's insurance requirements, your IT provider's shutdown window, and the fact that a hundred labelled boxes are useless if nobody knows which room they belong in. Reliable Movers Enterprise handles office, commercial, warehouse and delivery work across the DMV. Call 703-495-7005.

Who this service is for
Commercial work is anything where the customer is an organisation rather than a household, and where downtime has a cost attached to it.
- Small offices and professional suites relocating within a building or across the DMV
- Growing businesses splitting a move between a new space and storage
- Warehouses and inventory operations that need stock relocated
- Property managers, realtors and landlords clearing or turning over a space
- Event organisers needing scheduled pickup, delivery, setup and breakdown
- Businesses receiving furniture deliveries that need placement rather than a kerbside drop
What office and commercial moving involves
Office relocations
The work starts with an inventory and a floor plan, not with a truck. Desks, chairs, filing, monitors and anything fragile get identified and labelled by destination room, so that unloading is a placement job rather than a pile in the reception area. Where a building restricts move hours, the schedule is built backwards from the window you are allowed rather than forwards from when the crew is free.
Warehouse and inventory work
Stock, racking contents and equipment moved between units, with the loading order planned so the destination can be worked immediately. Volume matters less than how fragile the goods are and how much handling each item can take.
Deliveries, events and placement
Scheduled pickup and delivery, event setup and breakdown, and furniture delivered and positioned rather than left at the door — useful for stagings, office fit-outs and pop-up spaces.
What is included
The scope is agreed at the estimate stage and written into the quote. In a typical commercial move it covers:
- A crew sized to the inventory and the access, with the truck or trucks required
- Padding and wrapping for furniture and equipment before it is loaded
- Loading at the origin, transport, and unloading at the destination
- Placement by label or floor plan so items land in the right room
- Protection of the route through docks, corridors and lifts where the building requires it
- Working to the building's access window rather than around it
What we are not
We are movers, not IT contractors and not a fit-out company. We will not decommission a server room, disconnect and restart a phone system, or take down and remount wall fixtures that need a technician. Those are arranged by your own providers, and the best commercial moves have them scheduled on either side of ours.
How an office move works, step by step
Commercial moves fail on coordination, not on lifting. This is the sequence that keeps them on track.
- Walk-through or inventory callWhat is moving, what is being left, what is being sold or disposed of, and what is going into storage instead of the new space.
- Building and access requirementsDock reservation, freight elevator booking, insurance certificate, move-hours window, security sign-in. We need these from both buildings before we can schedule properly.
- Written estimate and timelineCrew size, truck, hours, and a plan that names the sequence — what leaves first, what is needed first at the other end.
- Labelling and preparationEverything gets a destination. IT equipment gets a provider-side stop and start booked around our schedule.
- Move dayLoad, drive, unload by label, place furniture, and walk the new space with you before the crew leaves. Anything going to storage is separated and logged.
What your commercial estimate depends on
These are the factors that change the price of a business move:
Send us the inventory and the building's requirements and we will put a written estimate together. 703-495-7005, or use the estimate form on our homepage and put the details in the notes.
Office and commercial moving questions
The questions we get from office managers and business owners before a relocation.
Can you move our office after hours or on a weekend?
Yes — most office relocations are planned around business hours precisely so the team walks into a working space on Monday. Tell us the hours your building allows moving, and tell us the hours your business actually stops, because those are not always the same window.
What does our building need from you before an office move?
Most office buildings ask for a certificate of insurance, a dock or freight-elevator reservation, floor and corridor protection, and sometimes a crew list for security. Those requirements come from your building management, so send them to us when you book — a missing document on the morning of the move can stop it at the loading dock.
Can you move our servers and IT equipment?
We can move the hardware — but a server room is not a furniture move. Shutdown, cabling, labelling and restart belong to your IT provider, and the sensible plan is that they decommission before we load and recommission after we deliver. We will work to their schedule; we will not pretend to be them.
Can some of the office go into storage between leases?
Yes. Splitting a move between a new suite and a storage unit, or holding everything in storage while a lease is finalised, is a common commercial job. Tell us at the estimate stage so the plan has the extra stop and the handling built in.
Do you do single deliveries, event drops and furniture placement?
Yes. Delivery and placement work — furniture delivered and positioned, event items dropped, set up and broken down — is part of what we do commercially, and it does not have to be attached to a full office move.
How much notice does a commercial move need?
More than a house move, usually, because buildings, landlords and IT schedules all have to line up. Call 703-495-7005 as early as you can and we will tell you honestly what is achievable for your date.
Planning an office or commercial move?
Call 703-495-7005 or send the inventory, both addresses and your building's move rules. The estimate is free and it is written, not verbal.
Where we work
Commercial work depends on the building: dock times, freight elevators, after-hours access. These six areas are where our office crews know the buildings.
